Robert Been Jr. boasts over a decade of experience in business management and property development, which has led to the creation of several successful small businesses in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands.

In 2014, Robert took the helm of the family business, Turquoise Point TCI, a notable three-story commercial and residential complex in Grace Bay, Providenciales. Under his leadership, the complex underwent extensive renovations, transforming its interior and exterior to enhance the entrance to Grace Bay with a modern aesthetic.

Robert’s entrepreneurial journey advanced in 2018 with the launch of his first rental property, Blue Star Villa. This luxurious three-bedroom villa in Long Bay Hills, Providenciales, was a project he managed from land clearing to interior design. Blue Star Villa’s attention to detail and commitment to quality earned it a listing on Airbnb, where it holds Super Host status and has been featured by celebrities on social media.

In 2022, Robert constructed and sold a replica of Blue Star Villa even before its completion, showcasing the craftsmanship and integrity of his projects. Over the past decade, he has developed and renovated numerous properties in Providenciales, including the recent redevelopment of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) headquarters. In 2023, Robert and his construction team completed a two-story, three-bedroom villa in the Shore Club community. Currently, they are working on a four-bedroom villa and guest house in the Leeward residential community, scheduled for completion early next year (2025). The team is also under contract currently constructing another two-bedroom home and guest house in Long Bay Hills, set for completion next year as well.

Robert has partnered with Sanjiv to form Island Star Development Ltd, a company focused on offering luxury homes with personalized touches that make each residence unique.

In addition to his business ventures, Robert serves as the Deputy Leader of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), the opposition party. His political platform focuses on crime reduction, youth empowerment, immigration reform, and support for single mothers. To advance his political career, he completed the Parliamentary Governance Certification Programme at McGill University 2024.

Beyond politics and business, Robert is dedicated to community philanthropy. He sponsors and supports various community events and church initiatives, including hurricane relief efforts and employment assistance during the Covid pandemic.

Robert holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, and an LLB Law degree from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. With a background in the legal field, he brings a multifaceted perspective to his endeavors. He has been married since 2013, Robert is also a proud father of three beautiful daughters.
